At Casa Calmaria we want to be truly sustainable, and for that there is a whole path that is being followed and is in constant evolution.
We began this way with the rebuilding of the house, choosing eco-friendly materials and equipment, working to obtain the highest energy certificate for the building (A) and adopting solutions that allow resources saving.
But also, in looking for local suppliers and business partners, in the choices for decoration details, opt and working with local artisans and local products, and for upcycling family furniture.
This is only the beginning. The way keeps going. Our ambition is obtaining a certification as sustainable local accommodation. And for that we are already working in partnership with Biosphere Portugal.
Our contribution for a responsible tourism also involves encouraging and help our guests and visitors to have a positive impact in their travel destination, giving to them tips that allow rethinking their actions and choices.
